This trash receptacle was the result of a co-development project between Anova Furnishings and Kwik-Trip. They were looking for an affordable trash receptacle that matched the tables they purchased from us. They liked the look of our Ultra receptacles, however, the size was insufficient for the high traffic they see at their stores. To address this need, we took the existing design and made it larger.
When resizing the existing receptacle, we quickly learned through prototyping that simply resizing the body would not work, as it was too tall to fit through the dipping line. I worked with our prototyping team to troubleshoot this issue and ultimately ended up splitting the body into two parts where the support ring would typically go. This helped the welded assemblies fit through the production line with no issues and kept a visually consistent split line.
Kwik Trip received two of these 55 gallon receptacles for their headquarters and offer these as standard receptacle options for their store locations.
